November 2000 - Not having much time to prepare for travels to Chile I didn't know what to expect. With the opposite seasons I was hoping for much warmer weather than we experienced, but it was sunny most of the time. This whole country is covered with flowers except in the mountains where the weather is much colder. I didn't understand most of the the lingo while I was there which made ordering meals somewhat of an event, but I had the European crew with me to help me out of these little situations.

November 2000 - The city of Santiago is clean and has many people walking around throughout the city centre. The Carabanero, or federal police, are all over on the green scooters and motorcycles. The people are relatively small and few know how to speak English, but they were very nice and patient with us foreigners. Fortunately, I had some Europeans, Greg, Ada and Mirek, helping me interpret things as we meandered through the city. A very high park is located in Santiago that elevates above all but about 5 buildings. It took more than 3 hours and a lot of climbing to see everything in this park.
